If I am a forget-it-and-set-it person, then yes, I agree.
If you are open to taking the time to learn the market, which could take years and years, then I disagree.
More often than not, the average person will find success investing in ETF/s or Index funds. Everything is about balance. You have to forget it and set it money, your high-growth picks, and then your short-term movers. If you suck at short-term movers, do equity-only mid-term movers. If you are still bad at that or don’t have the time, Index funds are the way to go.
