Beginner's Guide to Stock Market Jargon

This guide aims to demystify the language of the stock market, empowering you to make more informed investment decisions.

1. Stock: A stock represents ownership in a company. When you buy a stock, you become a shareholder, owning a portion of that company.

2. Dividends: Dividends are payments made by a company to its shareholders as a portion of its profits. They are typically paid quarterly and are a way for companies to share their success with investors.
Divided Growth Strategy

3. Market Capitalization: Market capitalization, or "market cap," is the total value of a company's outstanding shares of stock. It is calculated by multiplying the current stock price by the number of outstanding shares.

4. Earnings Per Share (EPS): Earnings per share is a company's net profit divided by the number of outstanding shares. It is a measure of a company's profitability on a per-share basis and is widely used by investors to evaluate a company's performance.

5. Bull Market vs. Bear Market: A bull market is characterized by rising stock prices and investor optimism, while a bear market is marked by falling stock prices and investor pessimism. Understanding these market conditions can help investors adjust their investment strategies accordingly.'

6. Diversification: Diversification is a risk management strategy that involves spreading investments across different asset classes, industries, and geographic regions. By diversifying your portfolio, you can reduce the impact of any single investment performing poorly.

7. Blue Chip Stocks: Blue chip stocks are shares of well-established, financially stable companies with a history of reliable performance. These companies often have strong brand recognition and a track record of paying dividends.

8. IPO (Initial Public Offering): An IPO is the process by which a private company becomes publicly traded by offering its shares of stock to the public for the first time. Investors can participate in IPOs to potentially profit from the company's growth.

9. Market Order vs. Limit Order: A market order is an instruction to buy or sell a security at the best available price in the market, while a limit order is an instruction to buy or sell a security at a specified price or better.

10. Stock Split: A stock split is when a company divides its existing shares into multiple shares, effectively lowering the price per share. Stock splits do not change the overall value of an investor's holdings but can make shares more affordable for smaller investors.

FED Rate Decision Expectations & How I Will Trade The News This Week

Last time Powell Spoke

Rate Changes

I wouldn’t be surprised if the rates remained unchanged or decreased. In term of price action, if the market follow throughs with more dippy action before the announcement, this could reverse if Powell does the expected.

Rate decision is on Thursday at 2:00 pm.

If there is no rate cut or clear statements that a rate cut will occur next month, the market may not believe Powell’s lies for the remainder of the year.

Will Stocks Go Up or Down?

Longer term? Down, if the market continues to respect the current all time highs. A short term generational dip buy into higher prices may be offered in the coming weeks.

When it comes to trading this market, it doesn’t matter what I think, but what I react to. View weekly trading roadmap here.

AI Conference

On Monday.

Key words to look for…

You don’t want to hear about how much money they are charging company’s. Why? So much cash and credit is being invested into the AI space. If prices are very high to use a product will cusotmers keep buying?

A new product launch, newly founded research or successful revenue numbers may be taken as good news for the stock to retest 1,000.

Swing Trading Market Insights

When the auction changes, you must change. Believe it or not, last week changed the trajectory of the market. If I am looking for a solid swing trade I prefer 4800 to be tested on the E-mini. Previous all time highs would have a high probability to be supported for a retest of 5000.

This Current Week

I think Powell understands what is at risk. I will be looking at relative strengths and weaknesses to the $SPY index. On my radar for trading: $TSLA $NVDA $SMCI, $META, $MSFT, $ENPH.
